The little bit of orange tinge (which most don't seem to notice anyway) is probably due to Caran D'Ache Saffron residue in the barrel. I'll flush it in the ultrasound next time.
Yes, the visible yellowing is definitely Saffron residue. Blue Ghost is quite effective at dredging up the smallest molecules of what ever ink was used before. I bought a Lamy Vista EF to use with it exclusively, and even on my second fill, it's still bringing up a slight tinge of the blue ink Lamy uses to test its nibs! And I ran it through the ultra sound before each fill.
